As we know already the main character of 1984 , Winston Smith was married to a lady who he does not have communication with anymore. He never had another relationship or felt any type of special connection until he meets Julia. Julia is a twenty-six year old who works at the Ministry of Truth operating a machine in the Fiction Department. Her and Winston’s relationship is quite different than others. At first Winston would dream of raping and killing her, because she looked like she was a huge believer in what the Party stood for. In fact, he starts to think she is part of the Thought Police, since she starts to follow him around. He becomes so paranoid and thinks she figured out he had a journal filled with his thoughts. Then, out of the blue she walks near him and slips him a note that will change everything, it read “ I love you.” Winston was astounded he never spoken a word to her and didn’t know whether this was a trap.  He waited for the perfect opportunity to confront her, and he finally got the chance when they were eating lunch where she quietly gave him instructions where they could meet. They meet in a wooded area where no telescreens can watch them. There he learned that Julia was a woman who has  a rebellious heart who loves to break the rules. She slept with multiple Party members as a way of taking them down. Despite their age difference they started to fall in love with one another. However, since they are not supposed to be together they would meet up at arranged times, sometimes even once a month. They truly had a Romeo and Juliet love story which only gets more intense as you further in the book.
