Scarlet Letter

My overall thoughts of The Scarlet Letter is that the storyline itself as well as the name catches my attention. I never really knew what the story was about only that it was mention in the movie Easy A. After reading the story I can conclude that the most intriguing part was the ending with the big reveal scene. Besides that not a lot action really occurred so it wasn’t much my type of book to read. However, if people are into old shakespearean language and more religious detailed history of a background this is the book for you. I really like the characters Hester and Pearl since they were a good symbol of what women should be which is strong, confident, bold, and not afraid to stand your ground and not care what others may think of you. I also liked the plot twist where the minister ended up being the mistress. It really was surprising and ironic since nobody would suspect the person who is the one who is teaching the philosophies and is really religious who promised to never sin and stay true to God. Another aspect I really liked of the story was that it had a lot hidden topics hidden with in that still relates to today. Also when it connected to other stories, scenarios, and even a bible verse as well. I think the overall message is even though someone makes a mistake we should forgive them of their sins since nobody is perfect and we all have times when we can’t control something.
